I was always interested in the fire service from the time I was a young boy.  I always wanted to carry on the family tradition.  With my entire family being involved in the fire service, the only thing I wish I could have done was meet my grandfather, but he was killed in the line of duty in 1956 while en route to a house fire in East Baltimore on board Engine Co 24.  So when I became eligible, I started my fire service career with the Kent Island Vol. Fire Dept. in 1983 as a junior fire fighter.  Then in April of 1984 joined the United Communities Vol. Fire Department which is the department that covers the lower half of Kent Island.  While with United Communities I held several ranks in both suppression and emergency services.  In 1992 I moved back into Kent Island's first due area at that time I rejoined Kent Island and remained active until moving to Ocean City in October of 1996.  Since being in Ocean City I have served on two pieces of equipment first Snorkel 11 then Tower 6 of which I was appointed Lieutenant in 2000.  Since 1992 I have been a career fire fighter with the Anne Arundel County Fire Dept.  At present I am currently stationed at Station 12 Earleigh Heights.  I am a certified Firefighter II, Fire Officer II, Fado pumps, aerial, tiller, Hazardous Materials Technician.  I am an alumni of the national fire service staff and command school, and have attend several classes at the National Fire Academy.  It is through the fire service I have met some of my best friends and there are too many to mention, but two of my best friends are on this web site with me.  Always remember protect the brothers; it is not a bull shit statement.
